Site Updates....

Just wanted to take a few minutes and update you on some of the changes that have been implemented on the site.

1) Speed increase -- A bunch of optimization has been done to the pages so load times on most pages have increased by over 50%

2) Links to stories now take you directly to the website with the story. If you want to discuss a story clicking the "Discuss" link will take you to an area for your comments. This acts much more like digg.com.

3) Frontpage now shows most recent featured news and popular stories.

4) New RSS feeds have been added
  a) http://www.360plex.com/rss/ -- This will get you featured stories, blogs, and podcasts
  b) http://www.360plex.com/podcast/rss/ -- Podcast only feed
  c) http://www.360plex.com/rss/forums/ -- Feed of new topics in the forums

5) The news feeds have all been updated. Now we are able to scan more sources and import more stories.

6) Each page in the news archive now shows the news sources and how many stories from each source were on that day. You can view all stories from a news source by clicking on the source name.

7) There have also been a bunch of smaller tweaks and fixes that should help with the roll out of the dailygamecast.com.

Well I noticed one of the updates to the frontpage actually messed the displaying of current news a bit.  New news was not being updated correctly.  This of course happens when I am gone for a week without Internet access.  It is working now and back moving forward.
